Leaking heat exchanger.
Odor. (May be noticeable during high wind.) Deformation of the heat exchanger on the left side of the lower chamber at the connection to the upper chamber.
If the unit has been operated with a defective burner assembly the heat may have been too high in the radiant chamber. This can cause excessive heat in the heat exchanger which may result in deformation or splitting of the heat exchanger metal.
Install a heat exchanger patch (HE_PATCH). Installation instructions are enclosed with the patch.
How to install patch:
- Remove the screw (A) from the fixing bracket.
- Install the Patch on the heat exchanger and gently push until it stops as shown in the picture below.
- Secure the patch to the fixing bracket with the screw (A).
